The Big Reveal

There have been some requests (yes, 3 whole people read this blog) to share the final product of my first DIY project.  Unfortunately, the indoor pictures of my masterpiece are horrifying (blurry, bad light, there is a clothes rack in the background).  I plan to drag this puppy out back for a photoshoot this weekend (and a final sand to make it slightly less glossy) and will repost...but in the meantime...

So there you have it.  A new table.  It was all worth it and I am quite pleased with the final product, granted our living room smells a bit like polystain :-).  On to bigger pieces of furniture!!  

Patience

Patience is not my strong point.  I am an instant gratification kind of person.  Unfortunately some times I can't control when things happen.  This could apply to a lot of things but this morning I am specifically focused on one. single. thing.

The worst news...I have to wait until April to enjoy this wonderful restaurant (it's in Scottsdale you see).  So, in the meantime I have devised a list of what I would like to have for my meal (and yes, I am apparently eating for a small family in this scenario).


For Starters:
Chips, Salsa, & Guac
Huevos Rolls
and probably some nachos for good measure


Entree:
Chicken Fajitas
Chimayo Chile Rubbed Pork Tenderloin
Arizona Mac n Cheese


Side:
Smashed Potatoes


Dessert:
I'm getting a little full from my three entrees, but if forced I would probably choose:
Fried Banana Wraps with Mexican Chocolate Sauce with whipped cream

Pizza, Pizza

Well, AP is on the mend and everything is coming back to normal at the Retchless house.

Ok, so he looks blind but I can assure you he isn't!  Had to show off his funny little legs.

I kicked off the this past weekend with Girl's Night Out.  A few of the ladies from EC1 headed to Berkley to enjoy Jess's new place, drink wine, and make pizza.  Thanks Jess for the great night!

Saturday, Scott and I had date night.  We decided to live the life of Katie (since she was arriving the next day) and start at the W Hotel and then head to Oola, a regular of hers (is that funny since she lives in NY?!).  It was so nice to get out together and enjoy a night on the town just the two of us.  We had wonderful food and wine, great conversation and mediocre service.  I prefer to focus on the first two :-).  Oh, and did I mention it was our 5 month anniversary?  Time flies...

Hello!

I loved the quotes on the menu, "Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy." Frank Sinatra.  Can't argue with Frank or the Bible.

"Wine is the most healthful and most hygienic of beverages" Louis Pasteur.  Yep.

Sunday, as I mentioned, Kate came to town for the 7th time in 7 months.  Can we make it 8, 9, 10, 11, 12?!  For some Sunday fun we headed to the Ferry Building for some wine and food shopping.  Because I could think of nothing original, we had make your own pizzas, again!  I might have to give the award to Berkley pizza only because we had homemade pizza dough (again, thanks Jess).  That said, the toppings were a tie and the company was wonderful in both instances.  

So much goodness on this pizza I can't even describe!

It was a great weekend, however I don't think I'll be needing pizza for at least a whole week (let's be real, it won't take much longer than that for my cheesy-dough cravings to return).
